| Jonnell Covault
Jonnel was raised in Marin county in northern California, where the beautiful environment and an inspirational art teacher stirred her interest in drawing and printmaking. At 21, Jonnel drove to Alaska with a friend and met her future husband. They lived in a log cabin in the wilderness and had a son. For 17 years they were commercial fishers at their remote summer fish camp in Bristol Bay. After moving to Portland, Jonnel completed her B.A. in Art at Marylhurst University in 1994. Her block prints are an expression of her love of nature.
